HERNANDO LEAL-GÓMEZ

​Hernando Leal-Gómez is a versatile and very innovative international musician whose extensive repertoire ranges from the Renaissance to the Contemporary music.

 

Regular appearances as a soloist and chamber musician in major music centers has taken him to many countries in Europa, Asia, North and South America.

 

As a focus of his artistic work, he understand a stylistically versatile orientation: both in the field of historical performance practice of ancient music as well as in the field of classical and modern playing techniques have led him to play on a variety of more than 10 types of historical and modern flutes. 

 

His interest in the historical performance practice focuses in the interpretation of the flute compositions of the 18th and 19th century.

 

​​An important part of his flute repertoire is dedicated to the interpretation of contemporary music by composers such as: Salvatore Sciarrino, Heinz Holliger, Louis Andriessen, Toshio Hosokawa, Klaus Huber, Robert Dick, Jürg Wyttenbach, Rudolf Kelterborn, Toru Takemitsu, Kazuo Fukushima, Isang Yun, and Blas E. Atehortua among others.


 

 

Artistic activity

 

Regular appearances as a soloist and chamber musician in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France, Spain, Portugal, Japan, Argentina, Italy, the Czech Republic, Greece, Hungary, Poland, the USA, Colombia, Peru, Ecuador and Mexico.

Several musical projects and performances in major music centers such as in the Hiroshima City Hall in Japan, Teatro Rex in Buenos Aires, Palacio de Bellas Artes in Mexico, Frankfurt Opera House, the Markgräfliche Opera House Bayreuth, Festspielhaus Bregenz, Teatro Real of Madrid, the Royce Hall in Los Angeles, the Mozart Hall of the Alte Oper Frankfurt, Palau de la Mùsica of Valencia in Spain, Auditorio Nacional of Madrid, Teatro Colón in Bogotá, Teatro Nacional Sucre in Quito, Johannes Brahms Hall in Karlsruhe, Casino of Bern, the Lucerne Theater, the Culture and Congress House of Lucerne - KKL and the Tonhalle Zurich among many others.

 

He is a guest at flute festivals as in Spain, Germany, Switzerland, Peru, Ecuador, Colombia and "The National Flute Association" in the USA.

Several CD productions, among others with music from old writings of St.Egidien in Nuremberg and with the ensemble "La Stagione Frankfurt" with music by C.P.E. Bach.

 

Regular appearances as a soloist with several concerts for flute by C.P.E. Bach, Johann Quantz, Franz Benda, G.P. Telemann, Vivaldi, Carl Nielsen, Franz Doppler, Carl Stamitz and J. S. Bach, among many others.
