Hernando Leal-Gómez is a versatile and very innovative musician. His musical work focuses in the fields of historically informed performance practice and the contemporary music on different types of historical and modern flutes.
Appearances as a soloist and chamber musician as well as performances in major music centers has taken him to many countries in Europa, Asia, North and South America.
He has been invited to several flute festivals as in Spain, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Peru, Ecuador and Colombia.
Several performances of music by contemporary composers such as Salvatore Sciarrino, Heinz Holliger, Louis Andriessen, Toshio Hosokawa, Klaus Huber, Robert Dick, Isang Yun, Jürg Wyttenbach, Rudolf Kelterborn, Toru Takemitsu, Kazuo Fukushima, and Blas E. Atehortua complement his musical activity.
