I met Hernando Leal as part of a flute festival in Villa de Leyva / Colombia.
During this festival, which has been organized very successfully by Mr. Leal, we played together a recital for 2 flutes and piano in a sold-out concert hall.
In our week together, I did not only get to know him as an excellent, very versatile flutist, who, in addition to the standard flute repertoire, knows and plays very well modern and - on historical instruments - baroque music.
Since he also has a great organizational talent and is very sympathetic to people, I can recommend him very well.
Michael Martin Kofler
Professor at the University Mozarteum Salzburg
Solo flutist of the Munich Philharmonic
Sincerely,
Sir James Galway
Hernando Leal-Gómez is nowadays an accomplished instrumentalist of high international level, experienced with all kinds of Böhm-flutes and traverso.
He is also an all-round musician, familiar with baroque style and contemporary music as well. In addition, the very successful conception and realization of his master classes are a result of both his talent as an organizer and as an excellent teacher.

I had the opportunity to meet Hernando Leal in Colombia, 5 years ago.
Beyond the musical and flautistic meeting, I discovered a true personality, generosity and flute talent.
Hernando perfectly masters the baroque, classical and contemporary repertoire and it is quite impressive to see the different seminars and master classes that he leads.
I can only wish to Hernando the recognition of his talent and the continuity of his great musical courses.
Very respectfully
Vincent Lucas
1st solo flute at the Orchester de Paris
Professor - Assistant at Conservatoire National Supérieu de Paris
I have known Hernando Leal for many years as a very virtuoso and elegant flutist.
He is highly familiar on the modern flute with the traditional solo and chamber music flute repertoire.
But equally he is competent and as a musician convincing in the presentation of the music of contemporary composers. Amazingly, he is also a flutist who can play the baroque and classical repertoire on the flutes of the 18th century stylistically appropriate and with excellent tone and intonation.
This combination is very rare. At the same time, Hernando Leal is a capable and enterprising educator. His annual Academy of Flute is very popular and speaks their own language in terms of energy, imagination and versatility.
I can absolutely and unreservedly recommend Mr. Leal in every aspect as a particularly wide-ranging flutists, artists and pedagogue.
Karl Kaiser
former solo flutist of the Freiburg Baroque Orchestra
Professor of baroque flute at the "Musikhochschule Frankfurt"
